What a beautiful wedding at two of our favorite venues… Victoria and Michael were married on campus at SMU’s Perkins Chapel and had their reception at The Rosewood Crescent Hotel. My favorite moments of the day were the speech Victoria’s father gave about faith, family and the determination to succeed, it was a heartfelt message that had most of the room in tears in a close second place was a the moment Victoria took to dance with her grandfathers after taking a turn with her dad. In all a nearly perfect day and what is sure to be a very strong marriage.
I think one of the great advantages of being married at The Dallas Arboretum is that you get a private moment to enjoy the park at it’s peak of beauty in those moments at the end of the day, well after the main gates have closed. This first image is one that can only be made in the extraordinary few moments when the sun is about to hit the horizon and it peeks though the trees just opposite the famous crape myrtle pathway where Shandalynn and Kelby were married. Such an honor to have played our part…
The beauty of being a photographer in D/FW is that you’re rarely shut down for things like rain and snow but on the other hand you’d better be good at dealing with the wind and heat… and we fought that a bit during this shoot and we still found some fantastic locations that provided the shade and wind resistance we needed to make this images for Tara and Adam. These two locations are so much fun and I love finding new ways to use them every time I go back… White Rock Lake (where we found the wild flowers) and The Arts district for the urban look.
What quintessential Rosewood Crescent Wedding! Vanessa and Chad had such a classy, elegant wedding I just think it represents a great example of a beautiful garden wedding.
